Caitlin Hamstra

Caitlin Hamstra is the Corporate Director of Learning and Development at Birchwood Foods, where she transformed a newly established L&D function into a vital strategic partner supporting four food processing facilities. She designs and implements innovative corporate training processes that actively engage frontline associates, enhancing both safety and food safety performance. Through dynamic, tech-forward learning experiences—including the integration of generative AI—she leads impactful change across the organization. Beyond training, Caitlin conducts internal research to uncover insights into employee sentiment, using this data to drive improvements in retention and job satisfaction. Caitlin holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan, and earned her master’s and doctorate from Central Michigan University.
